Not much running going on. Even if i wanted to, i am a little too sore. I did walk a bit and started lifting weights on Friday. I figured i was sore already, might as well just start lifting again and even all the soreness out. Sunday (a week after the marathon), was the first day i attempted running. A whopping 15 minutes!! I figured i will start with baby steps and be patient. I can't be taking anti-inflammotories just to run anymore. Now, it's time to deal with the injuries and get healthy and stronger, naturally.
The distance challenge is over. I don't think i trained very hard, but i did the best i could considering the aches and pains. The long races were my long runs. I am a little worn out by the whole thing. It was a big commitment for me. It was a constant worry to stay flu free...rested and arrange my stuff around the kids. I can honestly say that it is nice to be free from the fact of knowing there will be a race in 2 weeks or something. Also nice to spend a Saturday and Sunday doing other things. It's amazing how much energy one has when not doing a long race over a weekend. I can actually walk around and take my kids to lots of places without eye-balling the wheelchairs. Hopefully i won't loose all my fitness and be back injury free, mentally re-charged and eager to go again soon!!
