Week update.

Baseball and soccer couldn't start at a better time. The distance challenge is about a week from being over and it will be nice to switch gears a bit and catch up with other parents (sitting on the stands for hours on end) and watching our kids play and compete.
All this talk of tapering has made me nervous, because i really don't have much to taper. If i were to taper too much, there would be nothing left :) Monday, i ran Stratford out and back and the first hill just about made me cry. I managed to hang in there and realized i was pretty tired. Tuesday, i forced myself to go with my 11 yr. old and keep his pace. We let Ashley go, and we spent time talking. Wednesday, we went to Zilker and ran for 30 minutes on the grass at a decent pace. We did a few strides and i am eager to doing some of the track workouts again, after the marathon. Ashley, wants to run a strong mile at the end of her middle school track seaon, which is April. So, this is going to be a good change of pace. Thursday, we did the 800m repeats. Started off rather slow and picked it up to running about 2:53's and ended up with a 2:47. Friday, was rest day and Saturday I decided to run on my own from my home and try out different things, like drinking sips of gatorade, different shoes, etc. etc. I ran for about 80 minutes. I couldn't help worrying about how i will finish 26.2 miles. It sure seems like a long way!
